Tinashe has released “Melatonin”, a new single from her forthcoming album Popstar, alongside a dance-focused video directed by 91 Rules. The song continues the rollout after “Too Easy” and “Crash Out”, and is presented as an intense, club-oriented track rather than the calming sound its title might suggest.

The track features maximalist techno production, jittery rave drums and heavily edited vocals, with Tinashe using “melatonin” as a criticism of someone being dull or sleepy. It was co-produced by Ricky Reed, Zack Sekoff and Nightfeelings; Popstar is due for release on 25 September through Nice Life/Atlantic.
