Titus Welliver, best known for playing the title role in Prime Video's crime drama Bosch across seven seasons plus its spin-offs Ballard and Bosch: Legacy, has scored a hit with his latest project after his signature franchise moves on without him. His new series debuted at number one on the MGM+ viewership chart, outperforming films starring several major Hollywood actors, a notable feat given the franchise is set to continue with a prequel, Bosch: Start of Watch, led by Cameron Monaghan rather than Welliver.

The new show, which also stars Oscar winner J.K. Simmons and is set in 1980s New York, follows two childhood friends whose paths diverge, with one becoming a criminal and the other a police officer. It topped the MGM+ chart above Ryan Gosling's Project Hail Mary (third place), Jason Statham's A Working Man (sixth) and Mark Wahlberg's Transformers: The Last Knight (ninth), all considered among the strongest box-office performers of their respective stars' careers.
