Andrew Truelove, 41, was sentenced to six months in prison and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to violating probation in a criminal mischief case. Prosecutors allege Truelove entered restricted areas at Rockefeller Center by following an employee, looking for weather presenter Al Roker, then approached Melvin and used a racial slur. He is due back in court on 16 November over two hate crime counts, and on 9 October in a separate assault case, to which he has pleaded not guilty. NBC said nobody was injured and that it was reviewing its security procedures.
