Tokyo Film Festival Reveals Full 2026 Lineup
The Tokyo International Film Festival has announced the full programme for its 39th edition, running from 26 October to 4 November 2026. The 15-film competition will award the Tokyo Grand Prix, while the wider line-up brings together established directors, emerging filmmakers and international films.
The festival opens with Zeze Takahisa’s *Sukiyaki*, closes with Yeon Sang-ho’s *Colony* and features Takashi Yamazaki’s *Godzilla Minus Zero* as its centrepiece. Competition titles include seven world premieres and eight Asian premieres; Japan has three entries, while four of the competing films are directed by women. The programme also includes animation screenings and a retrospective of 13 Kenji Mizoguchi films across 12 programmes.
