Tom Cruise held the world premiere of his film "Digger" in London on Tuesday, with Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales in attendance. The event served as a Royal Film Performance organised by The Film and TV Charity, combining entertainment with charitable fundraising. The satirical black comedy, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, features Cruise in a transformative role as a wealthy oil tycoon navigating a global crisis.

In his opening remarks, Cruise thanked the Prince and Princess for their attendance and praised their support for the arts. The film features an ensemble cast including Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg and Jesse Plemons, with Cruise's character described as "the most powerful man in the world" facing a humanitarian catastrophe. Cruise has undertaken extensive promotion for the film, including appearances on numerous media programmes and a speech at BAFTA in which he expressed his conviction that human skill and craftsmanship will ultimately prevail over artificial intelligence. "Digger" opens in cinemas on 2 October through Warner Bros.
