Tom Hanks' documentary series *World War II with Tom Hanks* has become a global streaming success, topping charts in several countries months after its release. The show forms part of a wider wave of WWII-themed film and television projects in 2026, and reflects Hanks' long-standing interest in the subject, having previously starred in war films such as *Saving Private Ryan* and *Greyhound*.
