Tom Morello, the Rage Against the Machine guitarist, has announced his first solo rock album, "Everyone Gets Everything They Want," due out on 25 September, alongside a new single called "Date Night." The song, released on the day of the announcement, honours Truus and Freddie Oversteegen and their friend Hannie Schaft, three Dutch teenagers who seduced and killed Nazi officers during the Second World War while also smuggling weapons, sabotaging railways and helping Jewish children escape capture. Morello has framed the track and the wider album as explicitly anti-fascist and anti-racist, continuing his long history of outspoken political music.

"Date Night" features guitar from Morello's teenage son Roman, who co-wrote five of the album's tracks, while Serj Tankian and Kneecap also appear on the record. The album will include previously released songs "Adjourn It," "Everything Burns" (featuring Beartooth), "Pretend You Remember Me" and "Soldier in the Army of Love." Although Morello has released solo material before under the name The Nightwatchman, this marks his first full-length rock album as a solo artist, distinct from his Billboard 200 chart-topping work with Rage Against the Machine on albums such as "Evil Empire" and "The Battle of Los Angeles."
