Tomb Raider: Catalyst Gets New Release Window
Tomb Raider: Catalyst is now expected to launch by April 2028, narrowing the previously vague 2028 release window announced after its delay from 2027. The timing matters because it will be Lara Croft’s first wholly new adventure since 2018’s Shadow of the Tomb Raider and the next entry in the series’ unified timeline.
The game is set in India and takes place after 2008’s Tomb Raider: Underworld, linking the Survivor Trilogy with earlier games. Developer Crystal Dynamics, acquired by Embracer in 2022, has faced several rounds of redundancies, most recently affecting 20 staff in March; meanwhile, remake Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is due on 12 February 2027.
