Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream Has Already Sold Over 8 Million Units
Nintendo has confirmed that Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide since its launch on 16th April 2026. The Switch title's rapid uptake underlines the enduring appeal of the life-simulation series, which follows on from the popular 3DS original, and reflects Nintendo's broader push to keep older Switch titles selling strongly alongside the newer Switch 2 hardware.
Nintendo reported that 7.94 million units were sold in the first quarter of its 2027 financial year (April to June 2026), with cumulative sales surpassing 8 million as of 5th August 2026. Regionally, 2.55 million units were sold in Japan and 5.39 million elsewhere. Nintendo Life awarded the game 7/10 in its review, describing it as an unusual but creative and amusing addition to the Switch line-up.
