Tony Iommi, the Black Sabbath guitarist, has announced his first solo album in over two decades, From the Dark, set for release on 23rd October via BMG, alongside the lead single "World Alone". It marks his first solo record since 2000's Iommi and his first project since 2005's Fused with Glenn Hughes, marking a significant return for one of heavy metal's most influential guitarists.

Co-produced with longtime collaborator Mike Exeter, the ten-track album (with two bonus songs on the deluxe CD) departs from Iommi's earlier solo format by featuring a single vocalist, Norwegian singer Jorn Lande, throughout rather than a rotating cast of guests, backed by bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil. Lande co-wrote every song, including "World Alone", which arrives with a dystopian-themed music video, and Iommi marked the announcement with a global Q&A livestream on YouTube; the album is now available for pre-order in various CD and vinyl formats.
