Casper Kelly, best known as the creator of the surreal Adult Swim short *Too Many Cooks*, has released the trailer for his debut feature film, *Buddy*. The film is set within the world of a beloved children's television programme called *It's Buddy!*, fronted by a bright orange unicorn who teaches youngsters about happiness, friendship and life, until one child's refusal to play along causes Buddy's cheerful demeanour to turn sinister.
*Buddy* boasts a notable ensemble cast including Cristin Milioti, Delaney Quinn, Topher Grace, Keegan-Michael Key, Michael Shannon and Patton Oswalt. The film is scheduled for release in cinemas on 28th August, distributed by Roadside Attractions.

Casper Kelly made his name in 2014 with Too Many Cooks, a short film that started out looking like a parody of an old-fashioned American sitcom title sequence before spiralling into something much stranger and darker. It became a cult viral hit and established Kelly's reputation for unsettling, off-kilter comedy hidden inside familiar, wholesome formats. Buddy is his first full-length feature film, applying that same approach on a bigger scale.
