The Hollywood Reporter · 1 day ago

The Toronto International Film Festival has unveiled a fresh wave of world premieres for its 2026 edition, adding star-studded titles from Chris Rock, Peter Farrelly, Lauren Miller Rogen and Courteney Cox to its Gala and Special Presentations sidebars, which showcase potential future Oscar contenders. The additions underline TIFF's continued pull with both major Hollywood names and international auteurs, cementing its role as an early launchpad for awards-season buzz.

Highlights include Rock's directorial effort Misty Green, starring Rosalind Eleazar, and Miller Rogen's comedy drama Babies, featuring Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick and Issa Rae, alongside Cox's true crime thriller Evil Genius. Farrelly's I Play Rocky, with Anthony Ippolito portraying Sylvester Stallone, and Anton Corbijn's A Talent for Murder, starring Helen Mirren, also feature, while Yan Lanouette's Gilles Villeneuve biopic will close the festival. The lineup further includes North American premieres of Cannes titles such as Florian Zeller's Bunker with Penélope Cruz and Javier Bardem, and first looks including a Lisa of Blackpink documentary and a BBC film starring Laura Linney and Rhys Ifans.
