Toy Story 5 is on course to become the third billion-dollar film of 2026, having passed $900 million worldwide after five weekends in cinemas. The Pixar sequel, featuring the returning voice cast of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack, is proving both a commercial success and a critical hit, reinforcing the strength of the animated franchise nearly three decades after the original film.

In its fifth weekend, the film added $14.8 million domestically, finishing fourth in the US box office rankings, and has drawn a 92% critics' score and 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. It follows The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Antoine Fuqua's Michael in reaching $1 billion this year, meaning Toy Story 5 looks set to become 2026's third billion-dollar release.
