TP-Link has unveiled its first Wi-Fi 8 products, the Archer 8 Ultra router and Deco 8 Ultra mesh system, at IFA 2026, even though the underlying IEEE 802.11bn standard is not yet finalised. Rather than emphasising raw speed, the company says the hardware is designed to tackle the everyday connectivity problems users actually notice, and it also appears aimed at reassuring customers amid US restrictions on foreign-made routers by highlighting "US-led" engineering despite using Broadcom, Qualcomm and MediaTek chipsets.

The Archer 8 Ultra tri-band router packs 18 internal antennas and can reach wireless speeds of up to 19Gbps, with 10Gbps over a wired connection. The Deco 8 Ultra mesh system offers up to 22Gbps wirelessly and 10Gbps wired, with a three-pack said to cover up to 9,800 square feet and support more than 200 devices. No pricing has been announced: the Archer 8 Ultra opens for preorder in select regions from 30 September, the Deco 8 Ultra is due in the first quarter of 2027, and further products, including range extenders, adapters and the Roam 8 travel router, will follow in the second quarter of 2027 — all arriving well before Wi-Fi 8 certification is expected to be finalised in May 2028.
