Brianna Cronin, a 29-year-old Queensland ecologist, died after falling from Kelingking Beach on the Indonesian island of Nusa Penida whilst exploring the famous T-Rex cliff formation. She slipped on loose rock whilst traversing a notoriously steep and narrow track, becoming stranded on a ledge before suffering a second fatal fall. Her family has since launched a public appeal to bring her body home to Australia, highlighting the tragedy of losing a loved one so far from home.

The recovery operation took 90 minutes, with rescuers carrying her body up the clifftop after an initial boat recovery attempt was abandoned due to dangerous swells. Ms Cronin's body remains in a Bali hospital whilst her family raises funds through GoFundMe for repatriation and funeral costs, which can reach £20,000 (approximately $20,000). Any surplus funds will support her lifelong dream of building a solar-powered, environmentally friendly greenhouse with community spaces. The University of Queensland graduate, who studied science and arts, was known for her deep connection to nature and her role as an ecologist.
