Rapper Travis Scott has previewed the musical direction of his forthcoming seventh studio album, the follow-up to 2023's Utopia, citing an eclectic mix of influences ranging from Oasis and Van Halen to Daft Punk. Speaking to Variety, he said he has been working on tracks steadily while touring, and described wanting to create music with a theatrical, live-experience feel rather than something purely digital.

Scott named Oasis, Daft Punk, Van Halen, Parliament, Don Toliver and Raphael Saadiq as key touchstones, praising Van Halen in particular for its "mega-choruses and hard bass lines". He explained his aim is to make arena shows feel intimate even for fans furthest from the stage, and teased that the album, much like Utopia's theatrical ambitions, could involve an unconventional rollout. The interview also touched on his recent acting debut as "The Bard" in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, for which he contributed to the end-credits track "When I'm Home" alongside James Blake and Ludwig Göransson.
