Travis Scott has revealed he is working on a new album, his first since 2023's "Utopia", telling Variety he is "pushing myself to push the sonics" and trying to make something he hasn't made before. The rapper, currently enjoying a career high after appearing in Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey", also discussed his broader ambitions, including a long-sought Grammy award and a possible Oscar via the film's closing-credits song "When I'm Home", made with James Blake and Ludwig Göransson.

Scott, 35, said his current listening includes Parliament, Oasis, Van Halen, Don Toliver, Raphael Saadiq and Daft Punk, and that he wants to push his live shows towards a more theatrical experience. "Utopia" topped the Billboard 200 in 2023 with 496,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Luminate, and earned a Grammy nomination for best rap album, though it lost to Killer Mike's "Michael". Separately, Scott's company Cactus Jack has signed a first-look deal with Paramount Pictures covering film, television, theatre and live entertainment, with studio co-chair Josh Greenstein praising his creativity.
