Tributes paid as woman found dead at Houghton Festival named as Ibiza DJ Santanna Oush

NME · 3 hours ago

Police have confirmed that the woman found dead at Houghton Festival in Norfolk earlier this month was Ibiza-based DJ Santanna Oush, real name Santanna Maria Ally. She was found unconscious in her tent on the campsite on the final day of the event and pronounced dead at the scene despite attempts by on-site medical staff to save her, with police stating there were no suspicious circumstances. Tributes have poured in from across the electronic music industry, highlighting her influence on Ibiza's live scene and reigniting calls for greater openness around mental health in the industry.

Oush, who was born in London and had worked in Ibiza for years, performed alongside artists including Confidence Man, KI/KI and Kölsch, and co-founded the women-in-music OuShe party series at the Pikes venue. She was pronounced dead on Sunday 9 August 2026, and an inquest opened at Norfolk Coroner's Court has given a provisional cause of death of suicide. Fellow artists including Pikes, Bushwacka and Bear Winder paid emotional tributes, while a JustGiving page set up by her friend Marcus Eppy to cover funeral costs has raised over £9,200, well beyond its original £3,500 target.
