Ralph Alvarado, the Kentucky Republican who won his House primary with Donald Trump's endorsement, has removed most references to the president from his campaign website homepage ahead of the general election. An NBC News review found that a photo of Alvarado with Trump and language branding him an "AMERICA FIRST FIGHTER" have been deleted, with the site now emphasising "Independent Leadership" and a health-care-focused message instead. The shift, which occurred after his 19 May primary win, has drawn accusations from his Democratic opponent that Alvarado is distancing himself from Trump now that the president's popularity has softened.

Alvarado, a physician and former state senator, will face Democrat Zach Dembo, a former federal prosecutor whom the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has placed on its "red to blue" target list. Trump had given Alvarado his "Complete and Total Endorsement" before the primary, in which Alvarado took 56.5% of the vote against Ryan Dotson's 26%. Alvarado's campaign manager insisted the Trump endorsement is still promoted and that the photo remains on the site's media page, while also criticising Dembo's past role in the Biden administration. Trump carried the Kentucky 6th Congressional District, being vacated by Senate candidate Andy Barr, by 15 points in 2024, though Republicans nationally face a tougher midterm climate.
