Trump attacks Maher in lengthy post after White House dinner
Donald Trump criticised Bill Maher in a lengthy Truth Social post, calling the comedian a “complete and total loser” and accusing him of dishonesty and political bias. The attack followed a White House dinner the two attended this week, and came after former press secretary Karoline Leavitt appeared on Maher’s HBO programme.
Trump said he considered the dinner pleasant, but objected to Maher’s comments about his ratings and Republican support, citing a CNN poll that he said showed 98 to 99 per cent backing among Republicans. He also claimed Maher wanted him as a guest on his show, which he said he would not do. Maher defended the dinners on his programme, saying he liked them.
