Trump Media, Operator of Truth Social, Reports Q2 Net Loss of $238.1 Million and Revenue of $1.7 Million

Variety · 3 hours ago

Trump Media & Technology Group, which operates Truth Social, reported a net loss of $238.1 million for the second quarter of 2026, a sharp deterioration from a $20 million loss in the same period last year, while revenue reached just $1.7 million. The company said most of the loss was due to non-cash items, including unrealised losses on digital assets and equity securities. The scale of the loss relative to modest sales underscores the firm's continued reliance on its balance sheet rather than operating revenue.

The company attributed $190.4 million of the loss to unrealised losses on digital assets and securities, and reported $25.6 million in legal costs tied to now largely resolved legacy litigation. Revenue, though tiny, was up 89% year-on-year from $883,300. TMTG ended the quarter with $2.0 billion in total assets and roughly $1.9 billion in financial assets, and it recently launched a paid "Truth API" service, charging up to $100,000 a month for access to top accounts including Donald Trump's, which has drawn bipartisan criticism. The firm also said its planned $6 billion-plus all-stock merger with nuclear fusion company TAE Technologies is now targeted to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, later than originally expected.

  • Trump Media posted a $238.1m Q2 net loss versus $20m a year earlier.
  • Revenue was just $1.7m, though up 89% year-on-year.
  • New paid "Truth API" service and TAE Technologies merger, now delayed to Q4.
