Trump says US knocked out Iranian ‘little bit of anti-aircraft device’

Donald Trump said US forces had made limited strikes against targets in Iran, claiming they destroyed an Iranian anti-aircraft device within minutes. His remarks matter because they acknowledge US military action while presenting negotiations and wider dealings with Iran as making progress.

Asked about reports of strikes near Qeshm Island, Trump said the device was knocked out in “about 15 minutes, maybe five”. He also said the US was taking out more Iranian oil than before the conflict, described the situation as “not a war”, and said no US personnel had been lost in seven months.
