The Guardian's TV guide for tonight highlights the return of "Saturday Night Like UK", the US-style late-night sketch show that defied expectations of failure to become a surprise hit earlier this year, thanks partly to a well-received Princess Diana impression. Its new series brings back the successful cast, adds newcomer Freddie Meredith, and introduces Jeff Goldblum as its first celebrity guest host, alongside a packed evening of alternative viewing.

Other highlights include the Last Night of the Proms on BBC One from 9pm, hosted by Katie Derham and Nick Mohammed, featuring Bernstein, Holst and the traditional Land of Hope and Glory finale. Amanda Holden's quiz show returns for a second series with contestants competing for £18,000, while Gary Lineker fronts a celebrity gameshow moving from Oxford to Brighton beach. Also on offer are a new Martin Beck crime drama, Glastonbury highlights featuring Chaka Khan, Guy Ritchie's action thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill, the romance film "The History of Sound" starring Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor, and the 1948 classic "The Red Shoes".
