Ashley Greene, known for playing Alice Cullen in Twilight, has revealed how she unexpectedly appeared as a heightened version of herself in Marvel’s Wonder Man. She said the experience was unusual but enjoyable, as playing herself removed the normal separation between actor and character; her cameo also helped satirise Hollywood production while introducing Simon Williams’ struggle as an actor.

Greene was offered the role at short notice after another performer dropped out, with a casting director asking whether she could step in. The arrangement was kept so secret that even her former Twilight colleagues were unaware, leaving Jackson Rathbone surprised when he watched the episode; Greene said she does not know who she replaced but is pleased to be part of MCU canon.
