Twin Peaks and X-Files-inspired Thimbleweed Park 2 announced

Polygon · 3 hours ago

Ron Gilbert has announced that Thimbleweed Park 2 is now in development, nearly a decade after the critically acclaimed point-and-click mystery game was released. The sequel marks an unexpected return to a series that had appeared complete after a smaller 2020 spin-off, and continues a modern revival of classic adventure-game design.

The game will be self-published and is planned for early 2028 on Linux, macOS and Windows PC. Several original developers, including co-creator Gary Winnick, are returning; the first game followed FBI agents investigating a murder in a town inspired by and parodying Twin Peaks and The X-Files, while its creators are also known for LucasArts classics such as Monkey Island and Maniac Mansion.
