TWISTED SISTER’s JAY JAY FRENCH On DEE SNIDER’s ‘Health Challenges’: ‘He’s Not End-Of-Life Ill; He’s Just End-Of-Career Ill’
Twisted Sister guitarist Jay Jay French says Dee Snider withdrew from the band’s planned 50th-anniversary tour because he could no longer perform as he wished, and doctors and family advised him to protect his health. French stressed that Snider is not terminally ill, describing his condition as “end-of-career” illness, and said he understood the decision.
The band has brought in former Skid Row singer Sebastian Bach for its new touring line-up, which played its first show on 28 August and has three more dates scheduled for the autumn. Snider said in February that degenerative arthritis leaves him able to perform only a few songs at a time in pain, and that years of performing had also affected his heart. The planned anniversary tour was cancelled after his resignation.
