Two people have died at Burning Man 2026, the week-long arts and community festival held in Nevada's Black Rock Desert, which concluded on 7 September. Organisers confirmed the second death as 60-year-old Craigh Mann, found by campmates at around 3pm on 5 September, while the first victim, a man in his mid-50s, died on-site two days earlier following a medical emergency despite receiving lifesaving treatment. Neither death has had a cause officially confirmed, though a coroner said there were no signs of external foul play in the second case.

This year's event has been marked by additional difficulties, including heavy rain, dust storms, a serious injury after a fall from a 55-foot tower, and 34 drug-related arrests plus one for domestic violence. The deaths also come a year after the unsolved fatal stabbing of Vadim Kruglov at the 2025 festival. Burning Man Project has offered round-the-clock crisis support to attendees, amid a broader period of financial strain for the non-profit, which sought emergency donations in 2024 after staff lay-offs.
