Alex Kingston and Arthur Darvill are set to reunite as River Song and Rory Williams in a new Doctor Who audio drama, 15 years after their last on-screen appearance together. The project offers fans additional franchise content while the BBC considers new production plans for the television series, which is not expected to return until 2028 or 2029.

The Big Finish Productions release, titled The Death and Life of River Song: River and Rory, will contain four full-cast audio adventures and is scheduled for February 2027. Dan Starkey will also reprise his role as Strax, while the trio’s last television appearance was in 2011’s “A Good Man Goes to War”, which revealed River’s connection to Rory and Amy Pond.
