Two Indiana teenagers jailed for more than 200 YEARS over woman’s brutal murder

Daily Mail · 3 hours ago

Two Indiana teenagers, Jo’Majze Larry and Rashawn Samuels, have been sentenced to a combined 225 years in prison for their roles in the killing of 26-year-old Dayla Swain outside a bar in Anderson in February 2025. The case is significant because Larry, who was 14 at the time of the shooting, received a 100-year sentence, while Samuels, 19, received 125 years after both were convicted of murder-related offences.

Prosecutors said the attack was intended to silence Swain’s cousin, a prospective witness in an unrelated murder case. Larry was convicted of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy and gang-related offences, while Samuels was convicted of aiding murder and related charges; both sentences included substantial enhancements for criminal organisation activity.

  • Two teenagers received combined prison terms of 225 years.
