A 22-year-old man has been charged with causing the deaths of two people after a car struck three cyclists in Kent. Aaron Turner faces two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and a drug possession charge following the collision near Gravesend, which Kent Police say highlights ongoing concerns about road safety for cyclists. Two other people arrested in connection with the incident have not been charged, and police are still appealing for witnesses.

The crash happened shortly before 8am on Sunday 6 September on Sole Street in Cobham, when a white Ford Focus travelling towards Meopham collided with the group of cyclists. A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s died at the scene near the junction with Round Street, while a third cyclist suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. Two men aged 20 and 21 were initially arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and a 19-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender; Turner has since been formally charged.
