At least two people were killed and six injured in what Russian officials described as a major overnight Ukrainian drone attack on the Moscow region. Authorities said hundreds of drones were intercepted, while residential buildings, a warehouse and part of an oil refinery were damaged; flight restrictions were also imposed at two Moscow airports.

The reported deaths included a woman killed when a drone struck a residential building and an elderly man whose house was hit. Russian officials said 249 drones were shot down, including 152 approaching Moscow, though video footage shared online has not been independently verified. The attack came amid intensified Russian and Ukrainian strikes on energy, transport and logistics infrastructure, with Ukrainian officials separately reporting seven deaths in Russian attacks on the Kyiv and Sumy regions.
