Two men and two women have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a three-month-old baby died while camping with family in Great Wyrley, Staffordshire. The baby went into cardiac arrest on land off Strawberry Lane on Saturday morning and was pronounced dead by paramedics shortly afterwards, prompting a police investigation and public concern in the local community.

Staffordshire Police confirmed the arrests of a 42-year-old man and 30-year-old woman from south Staffordshire, a 20-year-old woman from Wolverhampton, and an 18-year-old man from Walsall, all of whom have since been released on bail with conditions. Officers cordoned off a fishing lake in the Wyrley and Essington Branch Canal Local Nature Reserve, where drone images showed several tents pitched near fishing platforms. Detective Inspector Josh Lee said the investigation was at an early stage, with an open mind on the circumstances, and urged the public to avoid speculation while officers gather further evidence.
