Two ‘monstrous’ burglars ‘walked over’ the dead body of a man, 56, to loot his home after he died of natural causes

Daily Mail · 3 hours ago

Two men have been jailed for burgling the home of Paul Taylor, 56, while his body lay on the living-room floor after he died of natural causes. The case matters because the judge described the conduct as “monstrous”, saying the pair effectively walked over Mr Taylor’s body to enrich themselves.

Jordan Sutherland, 29, entered the property through a window and passed a rucksack containing stolen items, including a jewellery box full of rings, to Cornelius Sleight, 31, outside. They were arrested at the scene in Lincoln after the raid at about 6.45pm on 13 May, and received prison sentences totalling five years.
