A collision between two motorcycles on the A57 Snake Pass, the major highway connecting Sheffield and Manchester near Glossop, brought emergency services to the scene on Saturday afternoon around 4pm. The impact necessitated closing the busy road whilst police, ambulances and an air ambulance attended to the injured riders.

The younger of the two riders, a man in his twenties, sustained significant injuries though not considered life-threatening, whilst his counterpart, a man in his seventies, escaped with minor or no serious injuries. Both were transported to hospital for medical evaluation and care following the incident.
