Two women critical following high-speed crash in southwest Sydney
A high-speed collision between a New South Wales police car and a Kia sedan has left two women in a critical condition, after both vehicles left the road and struck two houses in Sydney's southwest. The crash occurred at Prairie Vale Road, Bossley Park, at around 12.20pm on Sunday, while the police vehicle was travelling under lights and sirens in response to a priority call about a child seen running on the roadway. A critical incident investigation has now been declared to examine the circumstances.
The Kia's driver, a woman believed to be in her late twenties, was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition, while her passenger, believed to be in her early fifties, was taken to Liverpool Hospital, also critical. Two 24-year-old male police constables were taken to Liverpool Hospital for mandatory testing and treatment of minor injuries. No one inside the two houses that were struck was hurt.
