The United States has resumed air strikes on Iran after Iranian forces launched ballistic missiles at a US base in Jordan, according to US Central Command. The renewed action ends a short pause in the bombing campaign intended to allow diplomacy, and raises the risk of a further escalation between Washington and Tehran.

CENTCOM said the strikes hit dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets, including command centres, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and air-defence sites, and maritime capabilities. The Iranian missile attack was reportedly intercepted, while Iranian media said a strike on Qeshm Island killed three people and injured two; these reports could not be independently verified.
