Ubisoft ejects the crown jewel of its latest Ls, shutting down its NFT tactics game in October
Ubisoft will shut down Champions Tactics: Grimoria Chronicles, its NFT-based tactical game, on 30 October 2026. The decision ends one of the company’s remaining Web3 game projects and highlights the risks for players when games tied to tradable digital assets cease operating.
The developers announced the closure on Discord, saying the game would be sunset after “careful consideration”. In-game purchases have already been disabled, while the NFT element was reportedly switched off in May; players could previously mint and trade character NFTs, with some wallets said to show spending from about $1,000 to $100,000 on “Warlords”.
