UCHAYE Assumes Form On Debut EP ‘WAR IS OV3R’

Minneapolis-based Nigerian-Zimbabwean artist UCHAYE has released her debut EP, *WAR IS OV3R*, a five-track concept project about the aftermath of a breakup. Its story follows a protagonist from denial and escape through ambition to a final sense of freedom, reflecting UCHAYE’s own account of overcoming fear and self-doubt.

Conceived largely in her bedroom studio with musician Shaun Fleming, the EP combines guitar-led rock influences with emo and pop elements. Tracks include the spectral “Denial (Interlude)”, the riff-driven “Denial”, “Currency” and the closing “Live Wire”. UCHAYE began recording original music at home during the pandemic and has since gained more than 600,000 TikTok followers and performed at venues including Paisley Park and First Avenue.
