Global Travel Partners enters liquidation after arranging holidays for 100,000 customers
Global Travel Partners has entered creditors’ voluntary liquidation after 15 years in business, adding to a difficult year for UK travel firms. The company arranged holidays for more than 100,000 customers, making its closure a significant setback for the sector.
Launched in 2011 as BME Business Travel Ltd, it operated in the UK and US and organised trips across Europe, North America, North Africa and the Middle East. It also booked more than 35,000 hotel rooms; insolvency firm Yerrill Murphy was appointed liquidator on 7 October. Other travel businesses have also ceased trading or entered liquidation this year, including Barnes Worldwide Travel, Wayfairer Travel and Ski Yodl.
