Ukraine anti-trust regulator clears Uber’s takeover bid for food delivery Glovo service
Ukraine’s Antimonopoly Committee has approved Uber’s proposed acquisition of Delivery Hero, clearing the way for Uber to gain indirect control of Glovo’s Ukrainian food delivery business. The decision is one regulatory step in a wider takeover that would expand Uber’s delivery operations across dozens of markets.
Uber’s deal values Delivery Hero at about $14.8 billion, or $13.7 billion excluding Uber’s existing stake. Uber would take control of Delivery Hero businesses in 50 markets, while investment firm SSW Partners is set to buy operations in 14 others, including Glovo in Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Spain. Glovo’s co-founder says Ukraine is among its five largest markets and is growing by double digits; the deal still needs further approvals, with completion expected in the second half of 2027.
