Universal has become the first film studio to surpass $5 billion at the global box office in 2026, after previously reaching $4 billion earlier this year. The result marks only the third time in the company’s history that it has exceeded $5 billion in a calendar year and puts it well ahead of its 2025 total.

Universal’s 2026 revenue so far comprises $1.788 billion domestically and $3.218 billion internationally, 29% above its final 2025 figure of $3.89 billion. Major contributors include The Odyssey, which has earned more than $1.73 billion, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie at $1 billion, Michael at $656.4 million internationally, Obsession at $519 million and Minions & Monsters at $523.6 million; the studio has also led the global weekend box office 11 times.
