Universal Music Poland has acquired the catalogue business of Kayax Records, a Warsaw-based independent label whose roster includes Brodka, Nosowska, Zakopower and Artur Rojek. Announced on 20 August 2026, the deal covers global recording rights to the label's catalogue and the Kayax Records brand, and marks a significant consolidation of Polish independent music assets by a major label. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2001, Kayax's catalogue runs to around 130 albums, including works by Smolik, Krzysztof Zalewski, Maria Peszek and Hey. Alongside the acquisition, Universal Music Poland has also entered a strategic partnership with the separate Kayax Management business, which remains independently owned by founder Tomasz "Tomik" Grewiński and is not part of the sale. Notably, singer Kayah's post-2003 recordings fall outside the acquired catalogue, as she reclaimed those master rights in May 2025 and is no longer under contract with Kayax.
