Uproar as Australian man beats a puppy to death – before eating it – on an island near Bali during wedding festivities to local bride: As video explodes across internet, he responds

Daily Mail · 12 hours ago

An Australian man has caused widespread anger after video emerged showing him beating a puppy to death with a stick and later boasting about eating it, during wedding celebrations on an Indonesian island near Bali. Robby Wirramanda, whose real name is Robert Knight, is a 53-year-old former prison inmate from Mildura, Victoria, who was previously jailed for drug offences. The footage, shared by his new wife on social media, has provoked condemnation from Australian expatriates in Bali, who have called for him to be publicly named and shamed.

The video shows Wirramanda, dressed in traditional Indonesian clothing, repeatedly striking a whimpering black puppy with a stick while encouraged by his new bride, Rensi Ana, from her home village on West Nusa Tenggara. He also killed a pig during the same festivities and, in further clips, said he had already eaten the dog and might eat another animal later once it "gets fat". Angry comments have flooded his and his wife's Facebook pages, with critics branding the killing horrifying, while Wirramanda has defended his actions by saying he grew up hunting and killing his own meat.
