The case has drawn attention because a witness alleges Beebe punched a dog, raising questions about his standing with the UVA programme ahead of his expected arrival.

Beebe, from Montgomery, Alabama, previously played running back for UAB before transferring to Virginia. He was arrested on charges filed the Monday prior and appeared in Albemarle County District Court on the Thursday morning, where records confirm three Class 1 misdemeanour charges against him.
