Shudder has announced "V/H/S/MIXTAPE," the ninth instalment in the long-running found-footage horror anthology franchise, set to premiere on the streaming service on 9 October. The film continues the series' tradition of assembling segments from a diverse mix of directors and musicians, this time built around a theme of music and sound as instruments of terror, blending cosmic horror, psychological suspense and practical effects.

Contributors include director Ernest Dickerson ("Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight"), musician-director RZA ("The Man with the Iron Fists"), David Moreau ("Mads") and Renee Zhan ("O Black Hole!"), whose segment features creations from Jim Henson's Creature Shop. Musician Flying Lotus supplies music-video interludes, debut filmmaker Tobias Forge contributes a music video, and metal band GWAR make a featured appearance. The announcement follows the success of last year's "V/H/S/Halloween," which was Shudder and AMC+'s most-watched exclusive film premiere of 2025 and drove the platforms' biggest acquisition weekend of the year; the franchise began with the original "V/H/S" in 2012.
