Variety · 3 hours ago

White Wolf has announced that a sixth edition of “Vampire: The Masquerade” is in active development, marking the first project it will develop and publish internally since the company’s 2025 relaunch. Revealed at Gen Con 2026, the new edition is intended to preserve the tabletop role-playing game’s identity while updating its rules and storytelling tools, as part of wider plans to build World of Darkness into a transmedia franchise.

Creative director Jess Lanzillo said the timing reflects both the normal life cycle of a role-playing game edition and the need to keep the setting relevant to contemporary concerns. The fifth edition launched in 2018; the sixth will modernise dice mechanics, character creation and Storyteller tools, while exploring themes including technology, longevity, power, survival and social anxiety through its vampire fiction.
