Puerto Rican rapper Villano Antillano has released a new album, *Ante el Umbral del Peligro No Siento Temor*, following her recent move from Puerto Rico to Madrid. In an interview, she describes the record as a response not to the act of emigrating itself but to the transformation she underwent through the process, shaped by frustration with Puerto Rico's ongoing water shortages and blackouts as well as the strain of leaving her family behind.

The album, produced by Spain's Groove 2070, blends trap, reggaeton and experimental EDM, marking a stylistic leap from her 2022 debut *La Sustancia X*. Tracks include "entre2AGUAS", which touches on both migration and a past long-term relationship, and "CRACK", which confronts violence against trans women and domestic abuse in Puerto Rico, where intimate partner homicide rates are roughly double those of the US mainland; its accompanying video carries a trigger warning for depicting extreme domestic violence. Antillano, who says she has herself experienced domestic violence, describes the record as a way of channelling personal and collective pain into something tangible.
