Wales captain Davies joins FAW council
Wales captain Ben Davies has joined the Football Association of Wales council as part of eight new appointments intended to broaden representation in the sport’s governance. The move matters because the FAW says it supports its “Together Stronger for the Future” reforms, bringing players, coaches, supporters and younger people into decisions about Welsh football.
The 32-year-old Tottenham defender, who has more than 100 Wales caps and over 350 Spurs appearances, will serve as a player representative alongside Charl Galloway. Other appointees include Manchester City assistant coach Lauren Smith, Cardiff Draconians manager Nana Baah, supporter representatives Dr Penny Miles and Gareth Watts, and youth representatives Eleeza Khan and Begw Elain.
