Wales won a fourth swimming medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, as their men's 4x200m freestyle relay team took bronze behind Australia and England. It marks the second successive evening Wales have claimed a relay bronze, keeping the team's medal tally rising even as they continue to wait for their first gold of the Games.

The quartet of Matt Richards, Dan Jones, Kieran Bird and Tyler Melbourne-Smith held off Scotland to secure the medal, with Australia setting a Commonwealth Games record of seven minutes 1.47 seconds for gold and England finishing almost five seconds ahead of Wales in second. It follows the bronze Richards and Jones won earlier in the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay, and comes alongside Para-swimming medals from Ela Letton-Jones (silver) and Rhys Darbey (bronze), meaning all four Welsh medals so far have come in the pool. Elsewhere, 17-year-old Theodora Taylor qualified for the women's 100m freestyle final with the fourth-fastest time, while Sophie Davies, Kyle Booth and Meghan Willis all narrowly missed out on medals in their respective events.
