Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader gets major Switch 2 patch with all DLC now free

Eurogamer · 8 hours ago

Owlcat Games is rolling out a "massive update" for the Nintendo Switch 2 port of Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader, following a launch that was widely panned earlier in the year — Nintendo Life had described the port as a "borderline disaster" and one of the console's worst titles. The patch, revealed exclusively to Nintendo Life and due to go live at 4pm BST, is promised to eliminate "nasty bugs" and improve both visual presentation and performance, though its full scope is not yet clear. It matters because it marks the studio's attempt to rescue the reputation of an acclaimed CRPG on a platform where it had faltered.

Alongside the patch, Owlcat has said that "as an apology for the awful launch" all additional content will be free for Switch 2 owners, including Digital Deluxe extras and DLC expansions such as Void Shadows and Lex Imperialis, with the third and fourth major DLCs reportedly included too. The news arrives shortly after the announcement of a physical "proper cartridge" release for the Switch 2 port, due on 15th October 2026 from Silver Lining Interactive in collaboration with Owlcat and Games Workshop. Owlcat is also developing a new WH40K CRPG, Dark Heresy, and the action RPG The Expanse: Osiris Reborn.

  • Owlcat is patching Rogue Trader's poorly received Switch 2 port.
  • All DLC and expansions are now free for Switch 2 owners.
  • A physical cartridge release follows on 15th October 2026.
